Busy busy...

Last week Drew had his early childhood screening. He needed to pass 11 categories at his age. Drew passed 33. He is set to go to Kindergarten in the fall of 2011.
Drew also went to the dentist last week. He even sat still to get xrays. His mouth is nice and healthy.
Two weeks ago Drew had his last swim lesson. He passed into the next class. He doesn't want to take lessons again right now. I think he is a little scared. We will take a break and try again in the fall. We can practice in our pool this summer.
It feels like we go to the Library every other day. At one point it felt like we had the whole "truck" section of the Ridgedale and Wayzata libraries. You can have 100 items checked out at one time. We had 40!
Auntie Mandi is back to work this week after having last week off. Drew is excited to have Joey and Dylan back at Auntie Daycare!!

Ouch...

We took our first trip to the Pediatrician for an emergency last Friday. Drew and Joey were running at Auntie Mandi's house when Drew fell and hit his head on the table leg. Drew had an instant goose egg that was blackish in color. The Doctor said he couldn't have hit his head in a better spot. He is fine. Mommy panicked a little, but Auntie Mandi kept things cool. Now we just have to go through the colors of the rainbow on Drew's forehead and he should have no lasting marks.

Grandpa Bob turns 69!

Yesterday we celebrated Grandpa Bob's (or Grandpa Bobby according to Drew) 69th birthday which is April 1st. Dylan missed the party because the big kids couldn't wait for him to get up from his nap. He has been known to sleep ALL day. The candles could have started a good size fire and we didn't even get all 69 on there!

Why do kids love mud??? Last week Drew and Joey played outside for 30 minutes. They both came to the door crying and covered in mud. They were throwing it at each other. Last Friday when Drew and Mommy got home from school, Drew was told he could play outside if he went in the house first and got his boots on. Mommy went inside for 5 minutes. When she went out to see if he was coming in to get his boots, he was covered in mud up to his knees! His shoes were unrecognizable. Then Drew and Daddy were playing in the water at the end of the driveway. Drew's snow boots were soaking wet. That brings us to today. Drew and Mommy took Simon to the vet to get his yearly shots. Simon went crazy and attacked the vet. They had to give him his shots wearing leather gloves and wrapping him in a towel. He has never been that crazed. Drew was scared. After we got home, Drew was playing in the garage. He peed his pants. So he was walking toward the house with his legs spread wide. Mommy was standing by the mud telling him not to walk in it. Mommy said it 3 times. You guessed it, Drew ran in the mud. Mommy is ready to pour cement in all muddy areas of our yard!
This past weekend we had dinner at Lone Spur. When we were almost finished, a family with a little girl sat down near us. The little girl hurt herself and started crying. Drew said, "They shouldn't let crying girls into this restaurant."
Yesterday Mommy, Drew and Dylan went to the field house to play. Drew was racing Mommy across the play field. He kept telling her, "This is good exercise Mommy!"
A couple days ago Mommy and Daddy told Drew he should finish what he is eating before talking so he doesn't talk with food in his mouth. Every dinner since then Drew has told either Mommy or Daddy, "don't talk with food in your mouth".
The boy is a character!!!

And then came March

Daddy is in Las Vegas for NASCAR. Drew was supposed to stay over night at Grandma and Grandpa's house Saturday night so Mommy could have a "Home Alone Night". The evening didn't work out as planned. Mommy picked Drew up at 11pm. Oh well, maybe next time.
While Drew was hanging with Grandma and Grandpa Mommy went to the casino for a little while with Grampa Bob. For some reason Gramps always has the luck. Mommy couldn't even win when Gramps let her play his money in his machine. Mommy went home $10.61 richer so she can't really complain too much.
Today Mommy and Drew went to Mimi and Papa's house (they are in Vegas too) to read the paper and play on the computer. Drew wanted to go to Fleet Farm, but we never made it. Mommy and Drew were playing downstairs and Drew went upstairs before Mommy. When Mommy went upstairs Drew was sitting on the couch eating a stick of butter that he helped himself to. On Friday he got out the shredded cheese, cut the package open with a scissor, put some in a toy cup and was eating it while Mommy got ready for school. He is proving he cannot be unsupervised for a second. Little Turkey!!
Drew has had a bad cough and now a runny nose. Since our vacation he has been healthy exactly one week! Is it Spring yet?!?!?
