Overnight

Drew spent the night at Mimi and Papa's house last night. He wanted to stay and sleep in the "nest" with Joey. But when it came right down to it, he had a rough night. Or should we say Mimi had a rough night. Drew woke up at 3am and 6am wanting Mommy. But when Mommy went to pick him up at 9:30am he said, "Hi mommy!" and continued playing. She didn't even get a hug! Drew needs to spend more time away from Mommy so these overnight are easier.

Drew has been doing really well with potty training. He only wears a diaper overnight now.

Drew had a MAJOR melt down Saturday. Mommy and Drew went to a rummage sale at the high school which was where Daddy was also playing softball. Daddy finished before Mommy and Drew, so Mommy decided to take Drew home for a nap and go back to watch softball later in the day. Drew was not happy about that idea. The whole way home he was saying he wanted to go to the park (at the softball fields). The last mile or so he was kicking the seat saying, "Turn around, I want to go to the park!!" When the car pulled into the garage it was clear to him that he was not going to the park and he lost it. He was kicking and screaming. Mommy had a tough time getting him out of the car and into the house. When Mommy took Drew's shoes off and set him down he raced back out and into the car. Mommy carried in everything else before attempting Drew again. When Mommy went to get Drew he was naked from the waist down because he had peed his pants in the car. This whole time Drew was still screaming and crying. Mommy carried him in again and held him on the steps. He was hitting and pinching too. He tore up the Kleenex Mommy was trying to wipe his nose with. Finally Mommy carried him to his room and sat with him in the rocking chair. After about 5 minutes in the chair he finally settled down. He told Mommy that he loved her and he was sorry. He then took a 3 1/2 hour nap! The poor kid was over tired from not having a nap for 2 days and staying up too late Friday night. Mommy blames herself. We had NEVER had a tantrum that bad before.
