On our 3rd morning in Duluth we all made it up in time to enjoy the hot breakfast buffet that was included with our room. Drew definitely is eating more! He wanted everything. After packing up and checking out of the hotel we took another walk to the lift bridge. Drew enjoyed chasing birds and watching a large boat with a crane working right off the shore. He threw more rocks into the lake. I think he raised the depth of the lake the last few days with all the rocks he threw in.
After leaving Canal park we decided to stop at the Duluth Zoo. It was enjoyable, but very small and hardly worth the money. When we left the zoo we got Drew some lunch with the hopes of him falling asleep for the ride home. HA. We stopped in Hinckley for our lunch where Drew was still awake. The whole ride home he was asking "are we there yet" and saying "I wanna get out." He finally fell asleep about 40 minutes before we got home. Of course once we got home he did not want to wake up.
We had a pizza picnic on the living room floor, Drew took a bath and then it was bedtime. Drew went to bed pretty well and slept all night.

Duluth Day 2
Walter J McCarthy Jr going under lift bridge
Today was another fun day in Duluth. The three of us are sharing a king size bed. We woke up this morning in the shape of an "H". Drew is a bigger bed hog than his Daddy! We hung out at the lift bridge for most of the morning. We walked over the bridge and went to the beach on the other side. We got to see the 1000' Walter J McCarthy Jr go under the bridge. We also went to the Depot where we toured the train museum and the Children's museum. Drew had a great time at the train museum. He was begging to go there. After the museum we traveled up the north shore and had a snack at Betty's Pies. Yum. We were hoping Drew would take a little nap on the way to or from Two harbors. Of course he fell asleep 10 minutes outside of Duluth on our way back.
He was constipated today so we had to stop 4 times for him to go potty, which he never did. As soon as he would get in the bathroom the urge would go away and he said he didn't have to go. At one point I told him I would give him $5 so he could buy a monster truck toy. He told me he didn't need my money because he earned $5 at Mimi's party handing out beer. Turkey.
We went to a play park until Drew was crying because he had to go potty. Drew and I went back to our room and decided we weren't leaving until Drew's "issue" was solved. Luckily it happened fast. We left Daddy at happy hour in the lobby. We went to Thrillz where Daddy and Drew played mini golf. I think Drew won. Then Drew wanted Red Lobster for dinner. It was yummy. We walked back down to the bridge, but only a little boat went through. We went back to our room for the night. Daddy has big plans to go to the bridge around midnight. He's snoring right now, so we'll see how that works out!
Duluth Day 1
Drew was down to only taking Tylenol before we left home. He still wasn't talking, but would say a few words here and there. He was really good in the car. We stopped in Hinckley to stretch and get gas. We tried to get Drew to eat a piece of toast. He took the smallest of bites and started crying. So much for starting to eat again. He slept from Hinckley to Duluth. When he woke up, he was so excited by what he saw. He started jabbering and did not stop until he fell asleep! And even that was temporary since he talked in his sleep a lot last night. I was not aware that he even does that.
Drew loves our hotel room. It is a two room suite with a little kitchen. Out the window you can see the S.S. William A Irvin, a ship you can tour. It is literally on the other side of the parking lot outside our window. We walked down by the water and Drew was holding a brand new bag of goldfish crackers that he was set on feeding to the birds. While we were walking he opened the bag and next thing you know he was eating the crackers! This is the first solid food he had eaten since lunch Thursday! I think he just wasn't thinking about it and he started eating and it didn't hurt so he continued. It was such a relief for us.
We saw a few boats go under the lift bridge, but no ships yet. We rented a bicycle that Scott and I pedaled while Drew rode in a basket on the front. It was Drew's idea and he loved it. Let's be honest, Mommy and Daddy could use the exercise! We spent most of the day hanging out by the water, throwing rocks into the water, etc. We ate dinner at Timberlodge Steakhouse. Drew ate like a superstar. But now he has to poo and is having a hard time. If it isn't one thing...
Drew checked out the kiddie pool that he thought was a "kitty" pool. He wondered why there were no kitties swimming with him. He got to bed after 10pm. At first he did not want to settle down, but once he laid still he was out.

Poor Dew Dawg
Drew finding a hidden treat all by himself
Drew has hand, foot and mouth disease. not fun. The Doctor said his mouth is one of the worst she has seen. She was on the fence about sending him home with oxycodone and having us try to get fluids into him or sending him to the ER and having an IV do it. We decided to try it at home. He seems to be doing OK, but hasn't eaten or talked in 3 days. He promised Mommy he would talk when he feels better. He has been drinking pediasure(when he is doped up) and water. He is hungry. He will take something to eat, but as soon as it hits his mouth he screams and spits it out. It has been a trying few days.
Then yesterday we (mommy and Drew) were leaving the house to go to Mimi's party. Drew turned around and fell off the step and his head hit the driveway. So on top of his mouth being sore he has a goose egg on his forehead! Mommy felt terrible and cried right with him. He must have still been feeling the oxycodone he took earlier in the day. Mommy had been very emotional through this, no Mommy of the year awards this year!
Drew did have fun at the party. He didn't talk, but silently handed out beer (he poured it from the keg himself) and snacks(peanuts and m&m's). He even made just over $5 in tips!

Happy Birthday Mimi!
Happy 55th Birthday Mimi. That makes you the speed limit, right? Today we went out to lunch for Mimi's birthday at Joe Sensor's. It has been raining all day with some tornadoes around too. Perfect day for a long nap (which Drew is working on right now).
Last Thursday night at the Farmington truck pull, Papa got 3rd. It rained before the pull so everyone was dirty. Drew fell asleep in Mimi's arms on the 4 wheeler. Daddy took him into the trailer where he stayed asleep until we left. He slept while people were talking, eating and while he was getting a "wet wipe bath". He has so much fun at truck pulls.
Friday night was the truck pull in Corcoran. It was awesome that it only took 8 minutes to get there! Unfortunately Papa didn't do so well. He ended up with 10th place. Again Everyone was filthy afterwards. But this time since we were so close to home, Drew stayed awake to take a shower.
Saturday Daddy went to the PGA tournament. Mommy and Drew hung out at home all day. We did sneak over and visit Grandpa Ron for a little bit too. We ended the day with a pizza picnic in the living room.
Sunday was a day for party prep at Mimi and Papa's. We (the adults) did a whole lotta cleaning while the kids did a whole lotta playing. It actually was a nice day to hang out as a family.
Monday Drew and Joey got their hair cut. Then we went to the Library. We are getting ready for preschool! It starts the week of September 14Th. Drew will go Tuesday and Thursday. Joey will go Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Tuesday we went to Lion's park aka Joey's park. When Mandi was done working we went to Target. After nap time Mommy took Drew and Joey to the beach at Parker's Lake. It was actually Drew's first time at a beach in Minnesota. They had a lot of fun until it was time to go potty. After 2 trips to the "supporta potty" as Drew calls it, Mommy decided we were done at the beach.
Drew has had a fun summer checking the skimmers of the pool and picking tomatoes. He can't wait each day until Daddy gets home from work so they can do these things.
Today Drew and Joey were playing "Truck Pull". Drew listed the names of the trucks and him and Joey backed up to the sled aka entertainment center and pulled across the living room. When one was pulling the other was in the hot pits. They also went across the scale and waited for the flag. Anyone who doesn't know, these are all things Papa does at Truck Pulls. They were being very creative and having a great time! Drew is definatly a BOY.

MN Children's museum
Painting with water
On the job
Drew mailman
We went to the MN Children's Museum. The kids had a blast! We were there for 4 hours. After a couple daycare groups left, we were practically the only ones in the place. There are so many pictures of the great time we had that I couldn't possibly put them all on here!
Last Saturday Drew made his first trip to Iowa. We went to a truck pull in Waverly IA. There was a great park at the fairgrounds. After the pull we chased fireflies too. It was extremely hot there, but at least we missed the tornado in Plymouth! Daddy was in Wisconsin for a softball tournament all weekend.
Sunday Drew and I went to a truck pull in Hammond WI. We cheered Papa to first place!
By the end of the weekend we were all dirty and exhausted! It took a couple days to recoup.

This week we have been hanging out in our pool. Practically the first time all year! Joey and Dylan spent the night at our house the last 2 nights since their Daddy is out of town.
Tomorrow we are going pulling in Farmington and Friday night in Corcoran.
Nite to Unite
We were off to the park. I told the kids to put on a hat before they went outside. This is what I found when I went outside. It was a nice hot day too!
On "Nite to Unite" we went to the Plymouth fire station
for a kick off party. The kids got to go in a helicopter, fire truck, police car and an ambulance. There was a bouncy house and all kinds of free treats and goodies. Well worth missing naptime for the day!

What's new?!?
Where does time go? Here it has been a couple weeks already since this blog has been updated!
Auntie Daycare went to Garbage Truck and Police Car stories 2 weeks ago. The kids loved it! Unfortunately the truck stories are over for the season. Pictures to be posted soon.
Mommy and Daddy went to Las Vegas for 4 days. Drew stayed with Grandpa Ron and Grandma Luna. Drew did really well and kept Grandpa and Grandma on their toes. They said they got more exercise in the 4 days Drew was there than they have in a long time. They missed Drew when he went home, the house was too quiet.
Last week Auntie Daycare went to "Construction Fun" at the library. It started with a book and then the kids turned into a vehicle. They had face painting and colored hair spray. They made a license plate to tape to their shirt. They had a sand box and blocks to play with. They decorated rocks to take home. They also had a cardboard bulldozer to play in. It was a hit!
Last Friday night we went pulling in New Germany. Drew and Daddy were watching the guys get the track ready. The man running the bulldozer stopped and asked if Drew wanted a ride. He had a blast! Daddy went to get the camera. Mommy and Joey went back to see Drew. He decided to switch to the John Deere tractor pulling the rollers, so Joey got into the bulldozer. The man in the bulldozer made a comment to Daddy about how much Drew knew about earth movers. Papa pulled Chances to a 3rd place finish before the event was rained out.
Saturday Daddy played in a softball tournament. Drew and Mommy went shopping in the morning. After nap Mommy and Drew went to one of Daddy's softball games. Drew loves the guys on the team. And it seems the feelings go both ways!
Sunday Mommy, Daddy and Drew went to Mimi and Papa's to wash trucks and help them get ready for their pig roast.
And here we are starting another busy week!
