Drew was down to only taking Tylenol before we left home. He still wasn't talking, but would say a few words here and there. He was really good in the car. We stopped in Hinckley to stretch and get gas. We tried to get Drew to eat a piece of toast. He took the smallest of bites and started crying. So much for starting to eat again. He slept from Hinckley to Duluth. When he woke up, he was so excited by what he saw. He started jabbering and did not stop until he fell asleep! And even that was temporary since he talked in his sleep a lot last night. I was not aware that he even does that.
Drew loves our hotel room. It is a two room suite with a little kitchen. Out the window you can see the S.S. William A Irvin, a ship you can tour. It is literally on the other side of the parking lot outside our window. We walked down by the water and Drew was holding a brand new bag of goldfish crackers that he was set on feeding to the birds. While we were walking he opened the bag and next thing you know he was eating the crackers! This is the first solid food he had eaten since lunch Thursday! I think he just wasn't thinking about it and he started eating and it didn't hurt so he continued. It was such a relief for us.
We saw a few boats go under the lift bridge, but no ships yet. We rented a bicycle that Scott and I pedaled while Drew rode in a basket on the front. It was Drew's idea and he loved it. Let's be honest, Mommy and Daddy could use the exercise! We spent most of the day hanging out by the water, throwing rocks into the water, etc. We ate dinner at Timberlodge Steakhouse. Drew ate like a superstar. But now he has to poo and is having a hard time. If it isn't one thing...
Drew checked out the kiddie pool that he thought was a "kitty" pool. He wondered why there were no kitties swimming with him. He got to bed after 10pm. At first he did not want to settle down, but once he laid still he was out.
Day 2...
